"It is exciting to be a Telugu in these times. Traditionally very soft spoken and hard working, this community from the state of Andhra Pradesh in India has earned a name for itself in the areas of modern farming, Information Technology, Science and Research. This community has provided huge manpower in knowledge based industries like Information Technology and medicine.
World Telugu Mahotsavam 2013 is the brainchild of Aruna Chandrala, a prominent Telugu community member, and ex-President of United Indian Associations, the peak Indian community body in Australia and also the current President of Global Women’s Network. Says Aruna, “I was in India last year to participate in the World Telugu Mahotsavam event in Ongole invited by Ramky Foundation. Representatives from various Telugu Associations like TANA, ATA, NATA, and SILICON ANDHRA expressed their happiness and satisfaction on first World Telugu Festival. They expressed their wish to organize a similar event overseas to promote our culture across the world" - Source
