"HYDERABAD: Telugu films, known for their larger than life portrayals, have now become the driving force for the language's popularity in the virtual space.
A comparison of search volumes of major Indian regional languages on Google Trends from 2004 onwards shows that worldwide search for Telugu comes third, only behind Hindi and Tamil, with a bulk of searches emanating from India. But in the US, home to the largest Indian population outside India, searches for Telugu and Tamil are nearly equal in volume. Over the nine-year period from 2004 the search volumes show an increase for the three languages. 'Trends' shows how often a search term is entered in Google Search." -Times of India, July 7. 2013
